The Golden Sand Dunes were places where gold was mined during the colonial era of Indonesia. After a long period of time, the mud and depressions dug up by the gold rush have become a beautiful landscape. If Bintan Island is known as “a place more secluded than heaven, a pure land more blissful than the world”, then “Golden Sand Dunes” must be a more primitive natural environment and a slightly commercial embodiment. The peculiar thing about the golden dunes is that the dunes change color with the refraction of sunlight. Looking around, it looks like a golden desert. The rolling sand dunes are dotted with small lakes one by one. The lake water is blue, like emeralds embedded in the dunes.
